Japanese Tattooing

🇬🇧 I am tattooing for over 30 years, since 1994 and my focus is Japanese traditional Irezumi. The work is based in traditional imagery and I apply each tattoo in the freehand style, drawing directly on the skin with a brush, which allows me to create works that fit more perfectly on the body. I feel very grateful to be able to work in  Japanese tattooing. From my point of view it’s the best kind of tattooing. It’s transformative. It gives you power and purpose. It builds confidence. It ties you to a powerful historic practice that is filled with meaning and mystery.

I also love the clients that find me through this artform. I love getting to know them, and experiencing this world of irezumi together with them. I love that we have some kind of bond afterwards, a kinship of sorts- often even a strong friendship. Japanese tattooing is both masculine and feminine, both beautiful and brutal, and communicates all of life’s most fundamental human impulses and aspirations. Also the process of getting the work is a real right of passage. You are stronger afterwards, more confident, proud of yourself for pushing past the obstacles and making the sacrifices necessary to wear this kind of tattoo. 🇨🇿 Tetování se věnuji více než 30 let, od roku 1994, a specializuji se na japonské tradiční Irezumi. Moje práce vychází z tradiční symboliky a každý motiv aplikuji volnou rukou, přímo na tělo štětcem. Tento přístup mi umožňuje vytvořit tetování, která dokonale ladí s tvary těla.

Cítím velkou vděčnost, že mohu pracovat s japonským tetováním. Z mého pohledu je to ten nejlepší druh tetování. Je transformační. Dává sílu a smysl. Buduje sebevědomí. Propojuje vás s mocnou historickou praxí plnou významu a tajemství.

Milují také klienty, kteří si mě díky tomuto umění najdou. Rád je poznávám a společně s nimi prožívám svět irezumi. Líbí se mi, že mezi námi poté vzniká určitá vazba – jakési příbuzenství, často dokonce silné přátelství.

Japonské tetování je zároveň mužné i ženské, krásné i brutální, a vyjadřuje všechny nejzákladnější lidské touhy a aspirace. Samotný proces jeho získávání je skutečným rituálem přechodu. Poté jste silnější, sebevědomější a hrdí na to, že jste překonali překážky a udělali oběti nezbytné k tomu, abyste mohli nosit tento druh tetování.
